The Karen National Union (KNU) and Arakan Army (AA) have reported that military council airstrikes in Karen and Rakhine States have resulted in damage to a township public hospital and civilian homes, with one civilian injured. On March 10 at 2:40 AM, the military council forces attacked the township public hospital in Sanae town, Kyaukphyu Township, using suicide drones. These drones, launched from the military’s Base 18 at Taung Maw Gyi in Kyaukphyu, dropped two bombs on the township hospital, according to local news sources.
The drone attack directly hit the operating room of the Sanae Township Public Hospital, completely destroying it. While another bomb exploded outside the operating theater, no casualties were reported in this incident. The hospital had been closed for an extended period and was not actively treating patients at the time of the attack. In Karen State’s KNU-controlled territories, the military council has continued its violent offensive operations. On March 5 at 9:40 AM, Military Battalion 264 fired two 120mm artillery shells at Htaw Lu Kho village in Thaw Thi Township, resulting in injuries to 40-year-old Naw Eh Pray War. On March 8 at 11:55 AM, military aircraft bombed Kyauk Gyi Pauk village, dropping three bombs that damaged ten houses.
Furthermore, on March 9 at 8:05 PM, Military Battalion 264, based in Pein Zalut, fired two 120mm artillery shells into Taung Kin village in Kyauk Gyi Township. The shells landed and exploded within a monastery compound, damaging a firewood storage facility. The KNU confirmed these attacks in their statement. These deliberate attacks on civilian targets by the military council have caused widespread fear among local residents, forcing many to flee their homes and seek safety elsewhere.
