
A representative from the People’s Defense Force (PDF) in Tanintharyi Township has confirmed the discovery of three deceased military council soldiers’ bodies dumped in a pit. The incident occurred following a clash between resistance forces and military council troops who were advancing on foot through a forest route toward Theinkun village in Tanintharyi Township on February 25 at around 1 PM. The confrontation took place between Tamutchaung village and Laytaungyar village, where revolutionary forces engaged with the military council troops.
The operation was jointly conducted by Battalion 2, Company 2 of Myeik District, and Zone 4 forces of Tanintharyi Township PDF. During the engagement, several military council soldiers were killed, and resistance forces successfully seized various military equipment and ammunition from the deceased soldiers. The revolutionary forces were able to withdraw from the area without suffering any casualties, according to members of the resistance groups.
During a subsequent area clearance operation, three bodies of military council soldiers were discovered unceremoniously dumped together in a single pit. Due to the ongoing military tensions in Tanintharyi Township, Battalion 2 of Myeik District has issued warnings to local residents and travelers to exercise extreme caution while moving through the area. The current situation remains tense as military operations continue throughout the region, posing significant risks to civilian safety and movement.
