Revolutionary groups in Yangon have conducted a campaign posting warrant photos of military leader Min Aung Hlaing and Russian President Vladimir Putin throughout the city. The activity was led by four allied Yangon revolutionary organizations – the Linn Yaung Ni Youth Organization, Mayangone Democratic Front, Kyimyindaing Networks, and Owl Community. The purpose of this campaign was to denounce both the military council leader who has been committing acts of violence against Myanmar civilians and Russian President Putin who has been supporting the military regime.
The campaign also aimed to show solidarity between the people of Myanmar and Ukraine, as both nations are suffering similar hardships – Ukraine from Russian invasion and Myanmar from military dictatorship. Currently, the military council continues to commit acts of violence against Myanmar civilians while receiving weapons, military equipment, and technical assistance from Russia. The activists emphasized the parallel struggles of both peoples against authoritarian aggression and highlighted the importance of international solidarity in opposing both the Myanmar military council and Russia’s actions.
