In U Shit Pin town of Pantaung Township, Bago Region, Ward Administrator Aung Ko of Pyitawtha Ward is forcing local residents to cook meals and send food packages to the frontline battlefield. According to local sources, the administrator is compelling civilians to cook meals for military council troops who are reportedly starving in the ongoing battles on the Bago Yoma range, claiming the soldiers only have access to gourd pulp and three dried fish for sustenance.
Currently, residents of Pyitawtha Ward are being forced to take turns cooking meals by street, following Administrator Aung Ko’s coercive orders. The prepared food must be delivered to the administrator’s office. The battles taking place on the Bago Yoma range are reportedly intense, with the military council suffering heavy casualties. Sources indicate that remaining military council soldiers are experiencing low morale, with many deserting or returning to rear areas without orders. The situation has become increasingly dire for military forces in the region.
Due to the military’s losses, administrators, hundred-household heads, and civilians in U Shit Pin town are being compelled to organize food donations by ward to create an appearance of public support for the military. Military council supporters and gamblers are also collecting donations for soldiers, including bottled water, soft drinks, dried fish, fermented fish paste, betel leaves, and dried noodles. Local residents express frustration at being forced to provide labor and resources against their will, but find themselves in a situation where they cannot refuse these demands. The systematic exploitation of civilian resources and forced labor continues as the military council attempts to maintain its operations in the face of mounting battlefield losses.
