Revolutionary forces successfully launched attacks on military council positions in Salingyi town, Sagaing Region, targeting a police station and administrative office where junta troops were stationed. According to the leader of the Chindwin Dynamite People’s Defense Force, the attack was carried out using heavy weapons on March 7 at around 10 AM. The operation targeted approximately 80 military council troops using 60mm and 80mm heavy weapons.
While reports indicate casualties and explosions within the military positions, the exact number of casualties could not be immediately confirmed. Although the military council troops responded with small arms fire, the revolutionary forces were able to withdraw safely without any casualties. The coordinated attack involved multiple resistance groups including the Chindwin Dynamite group, Yinmabin District Battalion, Red Wing Special Guerrilla Force, and other revolutionary units working in collaboration.
Simultaneously, resistance forces conducted a successful mine attack against military council troops returning from patrol duties on the Monywa-Mandalay road. On the evening of March 7, resistance forces targeted 23 military personnel who were providing security for a convoy transporting weapons and ammunition to the Myapyugyi checkpoint from the Northern Command headquarters in Monywa. The attack, carried out using Padamya mines, resulted in multiple military casualties. This operation was jointly conducted by Chaung-U Township PDF forces, Special Forces units, and the Monywa Dynamite team. The coordinated actions demonstrate the growing capabilities and cooperation among various resistance forces in their fight against the military council in the Sagaing Region.
