Intense fighting broke out between the military council forces and people’s defense forces in the river island area of Sinkhayar village tract, Yeisagyo Township, Magway Region, resulting in the loss of the MBT force headquarters camp. On March 5 at 5:30 AM, the military council forces launched a major offensive against the MBT headquarters camp stationed north of Zayarpyi village in Sinkhayar village tract, Yeisagyo Township, leading to approximately 30 minutes of exchange fire.
During the battle, while more than 10 military council troops were killed, the MBT forces had to abandon their headquarters camp due to ammunition shortages, difficulties in receiving reinforcements from allied forces, and blocked supply routes, according to MBT force leader Major Mike Khae. He also stated that they engaged in defensive combat for half an hour before withdrawing to ensure the safe evacuation of local civilians, noting that they also faced airstrikes. The limitations in ammunition supplies were particularly acute after eight days of continuous fighting, and the blockade of supply routes made it impossible to replenish their resources.
Starting from February 26, military council forces based in Yeisagyo, with more than 200 troops, launched an offensive into the river island area east of the Chindwin River, resulting in fierce battles with people’s defense forces. After suffering casualties, the military council reinforced their troops from Yeisagyo and Pakokku towns and proceeded to burn down Mingala Chan village, Myay Sun Taw village, and Ywa Thit village before continuing their advance. Additional battles occurred on February 28 and March 2, with military tensions persisting for eight days.
Currently, the military council forces continue to burn and destroy civilian homes, while the MBT force has declared their intention to completely eliminate the military council forces. They have stated their commitment to continuing defensive operations to prevent further loss of civilian lives and property. The situation remains tense as local residents face ongoing threats to their safety and security, with the resistance forces working to protect civilian areas from military council aggression.
