In Salin Township, Magway Region, six revolutionary armed organizations have united to conduct joint operations aimed at ending the military dictatorship. These groups include Battalion 1, Battalion 5, Burma Army, Daung Sit Aung, Daung Nyi Naing Urban Guerrilla Force, and Salin Local People’s Defense Force. On February 28, representatives from these organizations signed a 13-point agreement to coordinate their military operations and work together as a unified force against the military council.
The joint agreement primarily focuses on maintaining respect for civilians, ensuring unity between forces, and establishing disciplinary measures. The agreement strictly prohibits threatening or speaking rudely to civilians, with provisions for severe punishment for such violations. It also bans inter-force conflicts and the discharge of weapons while under the influence of alcohol in residential areas. The agreement specifically states that any misunderstandings between allied forces must be resolved through dialogue rather than armed confrontation.
Furthermore, the agreement includes provisions against any actions or statements that could weaken or delay revolutionary efforts. The forces agreed to conduct operations as a combined unit, share both benefits and losses equally, and coordinate all public announcements with all member organizations. The agreement emphasizes mutual respect among force members and establishes that any disputes will be resolved by an impartial committee. This structured approach aims to maintain unity and effectiveness in their operations against the military council.
Regarding territorial matters, the agreement sets clear guidelines for operations. Combat units must notify and receive approval from the responsible territorial force before conducting military operations outside their designated areas. The agreement emphasizes avoiding territorial disputes and recognizes the authority of currently assigned forces in their respective areas. The forces also agreed to welcome and coordinate with any new revolutionary groups that may emerge in Salin Township in the future, following proper consultation with existing territorial forces. This comprehensive agreement demonstrates a unified approach to strengthening the revolutionary movement while maintaining order and coordination among different resistance forces.
