The Anya Pistine Thone Lay Group has donated one meal on behalf of a donor to two internally displaced persons (IDP) camps in Salingyi Township. The donation involved preparing and delivering cooked meals with curry to displaced civilians who are seeking shelter in these camps. These civilians have been forced to flee their homes due to the military council’s offensive operations in the region.
Residents from villages in Salingyi Township continue to be displaced due to the military council’s airstrikes, heavy artillery shelling, and destruction of properties through arson. These internally displaced people are in urgent need of food supplies, shelter, and healthcare services. Such donations from benefactors provide crucial support for the displaced civilians who are struggling to meet their basic needs while living in temporary shelters.
The displaced people sheltering in these camps face numerous daily challenges in securing their basic necessities, with particularly severe impacts on children, elderly persons, and pregnant women. Despite the military council’s restrictions making it difficult for humanitarian aid to reach these camps, the displaced communities continue to survive through support from local organizations and donors. The situation remains critical as the military council’s operations continue to prevent civilians from returning to their homes, making them dependent on humanitarian assistance for their survival.
