
Local residents reported that the military council forces conducted a raid on Nyamasarhit village in Shwebo Township, Sagaing Region, resulting in the death of two civilians and the destruction of approximately 100 houses by fire. On the morning of February 27, about 60 military council soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members from Ziphyukone village entered and raided Nyamasarhit village.
After entering the village, the military council troops captured and slit the throat of U Aung Soe, age 50, who was hiding inside his house. They also burned to death Daw Nwe Kyi, a 90-year-old woman who was unable to flee from her home. The military council forces systematically burned down houses throughout the village, destroying approximately 100 residential buildings. The troops searched through the remaining houses in the village and loaded valuable possessions onto vehicles before taking them away.
Currently, military operations have intensified throughout Sagaing Region, with increasing reports of civilian arrests, killings, and village burnings by military council forces. Local residents express grave concerns for their safety and security due to these ongoing violent attacks by the military council. The systematic destruction of civilian properties and brutal killings have created an atmosphere of fear and uncertainty in the region, with residents facing constant threats to their lives and livelihoods from military council operations.
