TANINTHARYI DIVISION – Fierce fighting between the Revolutionary Forces and the terrorist junta army in Tanintharyi Township, has continued, with over 20 junta soldiers were killed and weapons seized, an official from the People’s Defense Joint Column 1 of Myeik District.
Since early January, the massive terrorist junta forces have been invading villages in Tanintharyi Township, abducting and killing villagers, destroying residential houses, and looting public property, and the allied Revolutionary Forces had been earnestly fighting against them.
The skirmishes continued until February 14, with over 20 junta soldiers were killed and weapons seized in the clashes. In addition, the allied Revolutionary Forces suffered minor casualties, and the military situation on both sides was tense.
The terrorist army has been reinforcing its soldiers in the Thein Khun and Hton Ma Kha villages, and further clashes are likely to occur. In addition, the junta army has deployed troops in various areas of the township, so close-quarters clashes have been occurring everywhere.
“At present, a junta column in Thein Khun and another one in Hton Ma Kha are moving forwards and backwards. More than 20 military dogs (junta soldiers) were killed during the clashes. We have seized weapons and ammunition in the fighting near Thein Khun. The fighting is ongoing, so we will release the details if we can,” he said.
On February 14, close-quarters clashes were also taking place between Nyaung Pin Kwin and Moke Seik Kwin villages in Tanintharyi Township.
