KACHIN STATE – According to the KIA (Kachin Independence Army) and PDF (People Defense Force) news sources the revolutionary alliance forces under the lead of KIA have been conducting offensive attacks to capture Bamaw town completely, in Kachin state. At the moment, the revolutionary alliance forces have managed to capture three junta council battalions, including no. 5014 tank battalion and captured more than 40 junta council troops.
At the start of February, 2025, the revolutionary alliance forces managed to capture no. 5014 tank battalion. A KIA news source also mentioned that KIA alliance forces also captured more than 40 junta council troops alive during the battles in Bamaw town, on February 10.
The KIA news source explained that “It has been a few days since KIA captured the armoured battalion. It’s just they didn’t issue any statement about the battles. At the moment, they have already captured the artillery battalion 366, no. 6007 armoured battalion and no. 5014 tank battalion.”
To completely capture Bamaw town, no. 21 Operation Command Headquarters, the infantry battalion 236, the infantry battalion 47, the training corps and the rocket battalion are left to be captured by the KIA alliance forces. At the moment, the alliance forces are continuing to conduct offensive attacks towards Bamaw town.
During the battles in Bamaw town, more than junta council troops were reportedly killed and the revolutionary forces managed to confiscate numerous ammunition. However, the revolutionary forces also sacrificed their lives for the country.
Starting from December 4, 2024, the revolutionary coalition including KIA and PDF started conducting Bamaw town capturing battles.
