MYANMAR – The Karen National Union (KNU) Chair Padoh Saw Kwel Htoo Win urged the ethnic groups including the Karen people to unite in order to take down the dictatorship in the current military ruled Myanmar.
The chairman mentioned this in his speech for the 77th Karen National Day that fell on February 11.
He said that by robbing the power through a military coup in 2021, the junta council is pulling Myanmar away from becoming a Federal democratic union which is a goal of the Karen people and other ethnic groups, and urged for unity to eradicate the dictatorship.
“The Bamar army forcibly seizing power contradicts the goals and procedures to building a Federal democratic union as wished by the Karen people and other ethnic groups. Just as the ethnic groups have face the Bamar nationalism and military dictatorship, the Bamar people are also experiencing the rule of military dictators that ignores democracy and the advancement of society. We must all unite and work together to ensure that dictatorship is brought down,” said Padoh Saw Kwel Htoo Win.
He also announced that KNU will remove those practicing racial supremacy and dictatorship and eradicate the dictatorship and its pillars that are obstructing the prosperity of society.
