SHAN STATE – An official from People Defense Body – Nay Pyi Taw said that 1 soldier from the 510th regiment of Eastern Command on duty in Kyaing Kham, Lawksawk township, southern Shan State came to the legal fold with weapons and ammunition.
It is reported that the Dakkhina District People Defense Body, Ministry of Defense, the National Unity Government went and taken junta Council’s Soldier Yan Naing Kyaw who was forcibly recruited as a soldier from the 510th regiment who were on duty in Kyaing Kham, Lawksawk township, Southern Shan State on February 9.
A MA-1 rifle, 90 bullets and 3 cartridges were taken along with soldier Yan Naing Kyaw. It is reported that the division/district leadership team has taken over and is in the process of interrogating and recording the soldier’s information.
“He contacted People’s Embrace to come to legal fold, from there, our ground teams were informed, so they went to bring him out. The plan to reward for weapons and ammunition is yet to be submitted after verifying the information. At present, we have helped them to make everything convenient for him to stay,” said an official from the People Defense Body – Nay Pyi Taw.
The People’s Defense Body – Nay Pyi Taw urged the soldiers who continue to serve under the Junta Council to give up working for the benefit of a dictator as soon as possible and join the people.
