
MYANMAR – The National League for Democracy announced on February 8th (today) that there will be no way to find a solution without holding dialogue with chairwoman Daw Aung San Suu Kyi of the National League for Democracy.
On February 8th, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., the fifth interim meeting of the Second Central Committee of the National League for Democracy was held via Zoom, and the (9) resolutions were approved without objection.
(1) member of the chair, (3) central executive members, (39) Central Committee members, (13) auxiliary central committee members, (20) regional and state executives, total of (90) people from 14 central affairs committees attended the meeting.
The meeting was chaired by Mahn Johnny, a member of the Chairs of National League for Democracy and Central committee members from various regions and states including the central work committee members reported activity reports of central affairs committees and suggested documents were presented and discussed.
The statement stated that it is believed that there will be no solution to Myanmar’s political problems arising from the coup d’etat without the participation of the National League for Democracy chairwoman Daw Aung San Suu Kyi.
Therefore, it needs to be tried by all means to be free as soon as possible for all political prisoners, including Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, who have been unjustly arrested. It was also stated that the sham election planned by the Power Struggle Council will not only increase the conflicts in Myanmar, but also cause more instability in the region.
The all (9) decisions including not to recognize and collaborate the sham election, to promote the coordinations between revolutionary forces including ethnic nationalities to eradicate the military dictatorship were approved without objection.
In addition, the National League for Democracy announced that after approving the work report of the Central Work Committee, the submitted reports and the recommendations have been recorded.
