THAILAND- It has been known from the people working on Burmese labor affairs that four Burmese workers died due to collapse of suspension bridge under construction in Mahachai Region, Samut Sakhon District, Thailand.
It was stated that four Burmese workers and one Thai worker died due to collapse of one building’s part near new Mahachai market on Rama II road on the morning of November 29.
It was reported that the steel frame of bridge collapsed due to the failure of crane used during the construction of bridge.
When the bridge collapsed, there were nearly 40 workers and 25 of them were safe. They rescued the injured workers with much difficulties.
Mr.Ye Min, who is working on Burmese labor affairs in Thailand argued to be aware of importance of ensuring of Burmese workers who died in collapse of bridge to get compensation for their family members properly.
“That bridge collapse once a year,so it’s been twice and it kill people everytime. Four Burmese workers died. This construction site was only allowed Burmese workers with permission to work. But the worker with or without permission have to get insurance because they were died while working. We argue the family members to cooperate with reliable organization,” said Mr. Ye Min.
