The Chin Defense Force – Asho (CDF-Asho) successfully intercepted and attacked military reinforcements heading to protect the Nat Yay Kan military base in Ngape Township, Magway Region, resulting in 9 soldier casualties and the seizure of 9 weapons, according to Salai Ro Chin, an official from CDF-Asho. The incident occurred around 8 AM on April 30, when approximately 20 soldiers from Light Infantry Battalion 13, who were stationed at a monastery in Pazi village, Ngape Township, were moving out to secure the road for the military council’s Nat Yay Kan base.
During the attack, CDF-Asho forces managed to kill 9 soldiers and capture 9 MA-type small arms, along with ammunition and some military equipment. Currently, the military base at Pazi village in Ngape Township houses around 130 soldiers from various units including Division 99, LIB 2, LIB 10, LIB 13, and LIB 14. This outpost serves as a security checkpoint for the Nat Yay Kan air defense base, and revolutionary forces report that soldiers stationed there have been involved in the theft and sale of civilian property.
Local revolutionary forces have indicated that the military council is attempting to gain access to Ann Township in Rakhine State through this region. The resistance forces have warned civilians against collaborating with the military council, though they acknowledge that some cooperation may be unavoidable due to fear. In such cases, they encourage people to maintain contact with revolutionary forces and report actual conditions on the ground. They specifically emphasize avoiding cooperation with military council forces in matters related to supply lines and security arrangements. The resistance maintains that while forced interaction with the military council may be pardoned, actively supporting their frontline operations and supply routes cannot be accepted.
