
A military convoy carrying newly graduated company commanders from the Army Combat Training School in Byaing Naung Military Town, Thandaunggyi Township, Karen State, was attacked by People’s Defense Force units, resulting in nine casualties from the military council forces. According to a spokesperson from the People’s Defense Force Thandaung, the attack occurred on June 7 at 5:30 PM near the 7-mile military camp along the Taungoo-Thandaung road. Eight newly graduated company commander captains and one driver corporal were killed in the attack, while four other soldiers sustained injuries.
The deceased company commanders were newly graduated captains who had just completed their training. The operation was jointly carried out by the People’s Defense Force Thandaung MLB column under Battalion 5, Division 2 of Taungoo District, and allied forces. Additionally, on May 27, revolutionary forces attacked the military council’s Htone Bo Gyi outpost along the Taungoo-Leiktho road, reportedly inflicting casualties on military council forces, though the exact numbers could not be verified. According to local residents, military council troops continue to commit acts of violence and oppression against civilians in the region.
