
A military council camp near Wak Thon Kan in Salin Township, Magway Region, was attacked by People’s Defense Forces, resulting in the death of 8 military council soldiers, according to a responsible official from the Magway PDF Mobile Column. The battle began at 5:24 AM on April 26, targeting the military council camp located between Shan Village Hill and Shin Kyun near Wak Thon Kan, west of Salin town. The firefight lasted approximately 20 minutes, during which numerous military council personnel were reported injured in addition to those killed.
During the engagement, resistance forces had to make a strategic withdrawal when military reinforcements arrived from the Kan Pyar Police Station direction. Although the attacking force consisted of only about 15 fighters, they managed to inflict significant damage on the military council camp. Sources from the participating units indicated that they could have captured the camp if reinforcements hadn’t arrived so quickly. Due to heightened military tensions in the area, local residents have been advised to follow instructions from revolutionary organizations carefully. The current situation in the region remains tense, with increased military activities reported.
The operation was jointly carried out by the Magway PDF Mobile Column and Minbu District Battalion No. 5. All resistance fighters successfully withdrew from the area without sustaining any casualties. Given the likelihood of increased military tensions in the region, civilians have been warned to remain vigilant and prepare for potential evacuation to safe areas if necessary. Local resistance forces continue to monitor the situation closely while maintaining their defensive positions in the surrounding area.
