
A spokesperson from the Thayarwaddy District PDF has confirmed that 8 military council soldiers were killed and weapons were seized during an attack on the Sit Kwin toll gate located near Oak Twin village on the Yangon-Pyay road in Sit Kwin town, Minhla Township, Bago Region. The attack, which took place on March 20, was carried out by revolutionary forces from Battalion 3802 Column 2 of Thayarwaddy District, targeting a military council checkpoint known for extorting money and arresting civilians.
The battle lasted for approximately one hour and forty-five minutes, resulting in the immediate death of 7 military council soldiers and injuries to 6 others. During the engagement, revolutionary forces seized one carbine rifle, one ammunition magazine, 20 rounds of ammunition, various military equipment, and one motorcycle from the military council forces. Although the revolutionary forces attempted to burn down the checkpoint, only minor fire damage was reported. The following day, on March 21 at around 10 AM, revolutionary forces conducted a follow-up attack using remote-controlled mines against military council soldiers who had reoccupied the bunker at the Sit Kwin toll gate checkpoint, resulting in one additional death and four injuries among military council personnel.
Battalion 3802 Column 2 of Thayarwaddy District has announced their intention to continue operations against the military council and its affiliated organizations that have been oppressing civilians and revolutionary forces. Local residents have been warned to avoid traveling or staying near military council camps, checkpoints, and bases. The revolutionary forces have reaffirmed their commitment to continue fighting for the complete end of the military dictatorship system, prioritizing the interests of the people.
