
A military column that left Budalin town in Sagaing Region was ambushed by resistance forces near Pyebin Taw East village on August 26 around 7 PM, resulting in 7 military casualties and the seizure of weapons, according to a spokesperson from the Budalin Township People’s Defense Force (PDF). The clash occurred when revolutionary forces intercepted the military column as it was moving out of Budalin town.
During the battle, seven military personnel were killed and many others were wounded. The resistance forces managed to capture two weapons – an MA-1 and an MA-11 rifle – along with ammunition. Following the engagement, the military column retreated westward, according to local sources. The successful operation demonstrated the growing capabilities of resistance forces in the region.
The operation was carried out through coordination between multiple resistance groups, including the Budalin Township Combined Force, Monywa District Battalion (20), BOB Battalion, forces based in Pearl Township, Military Region (2) Battalion (505), Shwebo District Battalions (9) and (12), Strategy (53), Depaeyin-based forces, Depaeyin Local Mobile Team, Northwest Plain Galaxy Force, Phoenix Division, Yay Oo Township PDF, and the Kanaung Force. This joint operation showcased the increasing level of coordination between various resistance groups operating in the Sagaing Region as they continue their struggle against the military regime.
