A spokesperson from the Taungoo District Battalion 2 P23502 has confirmed that seven members of the military council forces were killed during an ambush by resistance forces in Thone Pa Pin Township, Bago Region. The incident occurred when approximately 120 military council troops were attempting to enter Myosoe village near Myosoe Bridge around 7 AM on June 12. The military council forces, who were in the area to reinforce their positions, were intercepted by resistance forces as they approached the village. During the engagement, the military council forces responded with both heavy and light weapons, though their counterattack proved ineffective.
Following the clash, the military council forces were unable to advance further east and remained stationary, while resistance forces continued to monitor their movements, according to the spokesperson. The operation was jointly carried out by Battalion 3502, Battalion 3501 Division 2, and the Oaktwin People’s Defense Force. The resistance forces successfully withdrew from the area without suffering any casualties. The coordinated attack demonstrated the growing capabilities of resistance forces in the region and their ability to effectively engage military council targets while maintaining operational security.
