
A fierce battle erupted in the southern part of Kawkareik city in Karen State, resulting in the deaths of seven military council soldiers and one revolutionary fighter, according to a responsible official from the Southern Eagle PDF. The clash occurred on February 24 at approximately 12:30 PM when revolutionary forces launched an offensive against positions held by the military council’s Aung Zeya column in southern Kawkareik.
The operation was jointly carried out by revolutionary forces including P29909 Southern Eagle PDF Battalion Unit (3) Tiger Dragon Revolution Force (Mine Twe Section) and the Special Operation Force (SOF). During the intense fighting, at least seven military council soldiers were killed, with many others sustaining injuries. The revolutionary forces suffered the loss of one brave fighter from the P29909 Southern Eagle PDF Battalion Unit (3) Tiger Dragon Revolution Force, who fell honorably in battle.
Following the clash, the military council forces have been indiscriminately firing heavy weapons at villages near the battle area in retaliation against local civilians. The Southern Eagle PDF has urged residents to evacuate to safer locations immediately. Revolutionary forces are currently prioritizing the safety and security of local civilians’ lives and property in the area. The situation remains tense as the military council continues its aggressive actions against civilian populations, while resistance forces maintain their defensive positions to protect local communities.
