A spokesperson from the Myaing People’s Defense Force has confirmed that six soldiers, including a camp commander, were killed during drone strikes on military positions at the Pyu Saw Htee camp in North Khin Yan village and the Myit Tha Dam in Gangaw Township, Magway Region. On March 4 at 9:20 AM, joint People’s Defense Forces launched drone attacks using Inaga bombs on the Pyu Saw Htee camp in North Khayan village, Gangaw Township, resulting in military casualties.
From March 7 to 9, continuous drone strikes were carried out on military positions stationed at the Myit Tha Dam, resulting in the deaths of one camp commander, one soldier, and four Pyu Saw Htee members, totaling six casualties, with many others sustaining injuries. On March 16, two soldiers from the Myit Tha Dam position defected to revolutionary forces and were captured along with an MA-11 rifle and ammunition. The operations were jointly conducted by the Myaing PDF, Gangaw Township Allied Forces, Gangaw Township PDF, and the Pauk/Myaing/Kamma drone units, with no casualties reported among resistance forces.
The military responded on March 17 with jet fighter attacks on villages near the Myit Tha Dam. Local residents have expressed concern over these retaliatory airstrikes by the military forces. The successful drone operations demonstrate the growing capabilities of resistance forces in the region, while highlighting the ongoing conflict between military forces and local defense groups. The captured soldiers are being held safely according to resistance force officials, who continue to monitor military movements in the area while maintaining defensive positions to protect civilian populations from further military aggression.
