A spokesperson from the Myaing People’s Defense Force (PDF) has confirmed that six military personnel, including a camp commander, were killed and two soldiers were captured with weapons following drone strikes on military council positions at North Khanran Pyu village and Myittha Dam in Gangaw Township, Magway Region. On March 4 at 9:20 AM, joint resistance forces conducted drone strikes using Einar bombs on the Pyu Saw Htee camp in North Khayan village, Gangaw Township, resulting in casualties among soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members.
Subsequently, from March 7 to 9, resistance forces carried out consecutive drone strikes on military council troops stationed at the Myittha Dam in Gangaw Township. These attacks resulted in the deaths of six personnel, including a camp commander, one soldier, and four Pyu Saw Htee members, with numerous others sustaining injuries. On March 16, two soldiers from the Myittha Dam position defected to revolutionary forces, and they were captured along with an MA-11 rifle and some ammunition. The operation was a coordinated effort between the Myaing PDF, Gangaw Township Combined Forces, Gangaw Township PDF, and drone units from Pauk, Myaing, and Kamma regions.
The resistance forces reported no casualties on their side during these operations. A representative from the Myaing PDF explained that continuous drone strikes were necessary because the military council had established camps on the Myittha Dam and was threatening local civilians. The military council retaliated on March 17, conducting jet fighter airstrikes on villages near the Myittha Dam. The successful coordination between various resistance groups demonstrates their growing capabilities in challenging military council positions, while the defection of soldiers indicates declining morale within military council ranks.
