
The People’s Defense Force in Pwint Phyu Township has confirmed that six military council soldiers were killed in an attack involving mines and small arms fire in Magway Region’s Pwint Phyu Township. The incident occurred on June 24 near the north of Htein Ain village at approximately 8:45 AM. The attack targeted military council forces who were moving with 9 military vehicles and approximately 200 personnel. The revolutionary forces initiated the attack with mines, followed by small arms fire against the military convoy.
The engagement began when resistance forces first detonated mines against the military vehicles, then followed up with small arms fire. The ensuing firefight lasted approximately 20 minutes, resulting in casualties on the military council’s side. The deceased and wounded soldiers were transported to the military hospital in Magway using civilian vehicles. The operation was jointly carried out by the Pwint Phyu Township People’s Defense Force (PDF) and the Pwint Phyu Defense Force, demonstrating effective coordination between resistance groups in the area.
