
The commander of the No. 3 Battalion’s drone unit in Myingyan District has confirmed that six military council soldiers were killed in a drone strike at the Sintewar Bridge near Tapinkan village in Thaung Tha Township, Mandalay Region. The attack, which occurred on June 28, targeted military council forces stationed at the Thitayumun military outpost near Tapinkan Bridge, where approximately 50 soldiers were deployed. The drone strike resulted in six military council casualties and left several others injured.
Additionally, on July 2, intense fighting broke out between military council forces and revolutionary forces in the area between Taungdaw village and Phalakan village in Nyaung-U Township, Mandalay Region. During this engagement, the military council launched a major offensive with superior numbers and firepower, leading to the deaths of 10 resistance fighters who became trapped during the battle. However, resistance forces managed to capture two military council soldiers alive during the confrontation, according to revolutionary sources.
Regarding the battle, a revolutionary source from Nyaung-U Township explained that the military council forces possessed significantly greater weapons and ammunition capabilities compared to the resistance forces. The source clarified that the revolutionary forces were severely limited in terms of weapons and ammunition, and also lost some weapons during the battle. The military council’s deployment of large-scale forces in the region resulted in resistance fighters becoming trapped while attempting to counter-attack. The source emphasized that the revolutionary forces were at a severe disadvantage in terms of military resources during the engagement.
