These attacks resulted in 4 military council soldiers being killed and 9 others wounded. The operation was carried out by security forces from KNU Brigade 2 Battalion 5 who were conducting road security operations in the area.
On May 5 at approximately 9:00 PM, resistance forces launched an attack on the military council’s Mile 7 camp in Thandaunggyi Township using 60mm mortars, firing 4 rounds. This attack resulted in 2 military council soldiers being killed and approximately 6 others wounded. The following day, on May 6 at 3:00 PM, resistance forces targeted military council troops gathering at the Mile 13 town entrance checkpoint with two 60mm mortar rounds. While casualties were confirmed among the military council forces, the exact numbers are still being investigated.
Another attack was carried out on May 7 at 12:45 PM, targeting a prepared military council convoy at the Mile 39 camp using three 60mm mortar rounds. The attack resulted in military council casualties, and approximately 30 minutes after the attack, two ambulances were observed entering the Mile 39 base. These coordinated attacks were jointly conducted by the Kyiku Column, KNU Brigade 2 Special Commando Unit, and forces under KNLA Battalion 5. All revolutionary joint forces successfully withdrew from the operations without suffering any casualties. These operations demonstrate the continued resistance against the military council’s presence in the region and the effectiveness of coordinated actions between various revolutionary forces.
