A representative from the We Love Myaing organization has confirmed that six civilians were injured, with two in critical condition, following an aerial attack by the military council near a school in Tharnartaw village, Myaing Township, Magway Region. The incident occurred around 2:15 PM on June 15, when the military council’s forces conducted an unprovoked aerial bombardment on the area northwest of Myaing town. The attack was carried out by two military helicopters from the Pakokku Division 101, despite there being no active fighting in the area.
The aerial assault resulted in injuries to six civilians from Tharnartaw village, including two men and four women. Among the injured, two women are reported to be in critical condition, causing serious concern for their survival. The attack also caused significant collateral damage, killing two cattle and destroying two residential houses and a rice storage facility. Local sources confirmed that the military council deliberately targeted the civilian area without any military engagement or provocation. This incident represents another example of the military council’s pattern of targeting civilian populations and infrastructure.
These aerial attacks by the military council have become a recurring source of civilian casualties, deaths, and property destruction across Myanmar. The military council continues to disregard international laws of warfare by deliberately targeting civilian areas. In this particular incident, the We Love Myaing organization’s representative confirmed that the military council dropped two bombs in an unprovoked attack, demonstrating a clear violation of civilian protection protocols. The targeting of civilian areas, particularly near educational facilities, highlights the military council’s ongoing campaign of violence against its own people, causing widespread devastation and humanitarian concerns in affected communities.
