The Southern YSO PDF forces have successfully seized a truck carrying 50 barrels of cooking oil belonging to the military council on the Pakokku-Yesagyo road in Magway Region’s Pakokku Township. The incident occurred at 4 PM on April 1st, when the resistance forces intercepted a six-wheeled truck transporting military council-rationed cooking oil. The seized cargo consisted of 50 barrels of palm oil, weighing approximately 5,500 viss in total.
According to Ko Aung Maung, the commander of Southern YSO PDF, the truck was manned only by a driver and a conductor, with no military security personnel present. He stated that while the driver and conductor would be released, the seized vehicle and cooking oil would be repurposed for revolutionary activities. The resistance forces confirmed that they had thoroughly investigated the shipment and verified it was cooperative-supplied oil intended for military families and soldiers.
The intercepted vehicle was identified as one regularly used for transporting oil and rice supplies for the military council between Pakokku and Yesagyo cities. The PDF forces had conducted surveillance for approximately two months before successfully carrying out the seizure operation. Currently, the military council maintains strict control over oil trade in the Yesagyo Township, restricting sales and transportation permits while monopolizing the entire market. Under the guise of public welfare, they have implemented a ration card system for cooking oil, limiting sales to one viss per household, while maintaining preferential distribution channels for military personnel and their families.
