
Revolutionary forces conducted a successful attack on a military council outpost near Thingyu Police Station in Thanbyuzayat Township, Mon State, resulting in the death of 5 military council personnel, according to Mi Tala Nyan, spokesperson for the Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF). The attack took place around 11:20 AM on July 22, targeting a military outpost located approximately 200 meters from Thingyu Police Station. During the engagement, two police officers and three soldiers from the military council forces were killed, while at least three others sustained severe injuries.
The operation was carried out through a coordinated effort between multiple revolutionary forces, including the Mon State Revolutionary Force (MSRF) and Ye People’s Defense Force (YPDF), both operating under the Mon State Federal Council’s (MSFC) Defense Department, alongside their military allies from the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) Battalion 27, Company 1. The military council outpost was reportedly manned by approximately 30 personnel at the time of the attack. According to Mi Tala Nyan, the revolutionary forces employed guerrilla warfare tactics to successfully execute the operation.
The revolutionary forces were able to withdraw safely from the area without sustaining any casualties after the successful operation. This battle represents a significant achievement for the revolutionary forces operating in Mon State, demonstrating their capability to effectively conduct operations against military council positions while ensuring the safety of their personnel. The engagement also highlights the ongoing resistance efforts by revolutionary forces who continue to fight for the security and justice of local civilians in the region.
