Revolutionary joint forces conducted a two-day offensive against military council troops who entered Thaung Tha Township in Myingyan District, Mandalay Region, resulting in five military casualties, two prisoners of war, and the seizure of two weapons. On April 26, a combined force of over 100 soldiers, police, and Pyu Saw Htee militia from Nyaung-U and Nga Thauk townships advanced into the western part of Thaung Tha township. The following morning on April 27, when the military column moved from Tatar village toward Taung Chamauk village, revolutionary joint forces launched an attack using both heavy and light weapons.
The battle lasted over an hour, and resistance forces had to temporarily withdraw due to ammunition shortages. However, when the Bagan Bilu force arrived, fighting resumed for another thirty minutes. The military council troops called for air support, forcing the revolutionary forces to retreat again. The injured military council forces then occupied Maung Chamauk village and burned civilian homes. On the morning of April 28, as the military council troops advanced from Taung Chamauk village toward Htauk Sha village in Kyaukpadaung township, People’s Defense Forces launched another attack near Htauk Sha Pin village. The exchange of fire continued for about three hours, with the military council requesting air support six times before retreating in disarray toward Nga Thauk town.
During the two days of fighting, revolutionary forces captured five military council casualties including a police corpse, two M22 rifles with ammunition, and two prisoners of war. Additionally, 43 soldiers including the column commander were injured, with the commander being treated at Wellaung Hospital.
