
In territories controlled by the Karen National Union (KNU) in Mu and Shwegyin townships, the terrorist military’s airstrikes and artillery attacks have killed 4 civilians, destroyed one monastery and 4 houses, according to a statement from KNU Central. On April 28 around 11 AM, the military conducted airstrikes on villages including Noklo, Taungsu East, Taungsu West, Nohtawta, Sepaypaw, Tamakaw, Yanmyoaung, Naungkone, Yintaikekone, Ngayaseik, Anyasu, Yelaykayin, and Ywakyiain in Mu Township, resulting in the death of 27-year-old Ko Thein Zaw Oo from Ywakyiain village.
At around 10:30 AM the same day, airstrikes on Kanyindaing village in Mu Township killed three civilians – 50-year-old Daw Khine Win, 44-year-old Daw Ei Shwe Win, and 48-year-old U Sein Yan. A 20-month-old child Ma May Thiri Htun and 35-year-old U Aung Myo were injured, while 4 houses were destroyed. The military council forces also repeatedly conducted airstrikes and artillery attacks on areas including Kyunchaung, Laylamezay, Shanvillage, Chaythayar, Nyaungchaiauk and Thayetthamin in Shwegyin Township, resulting in the destruction of a monastery in Thayetthamin village.
In Tanintharyi Region’s Thayet Chaung Township, unprovoked airstrikes on villages killed one civilian and injured two others. Around 1 PM on April 29, the terrorist military council conducted airstrikes on Yingae, Kyaukhmauk, Kywemin Kone, and Chauk Chaung villages in Thayet Chaung Township, killing 40-year-old U Aung Aung from Katwe village and injuring 50-year-old Daw Mi Kan and her 18-year-old daughter Ma Win Sandar from Kyaukhmauk village.
