According to confirmed sources, five civilians were injured after the military council forces deliberately launched artillery attacks on villages in Myittha Township, Mandalay Region, and Hpa-an Township, Karen State. On March 15, military council troops stationed at Myakan village in Myittha Township fired three 120mm artillery shells at areas near Htonbo village. The attack resulted in injuries to two women and three men, while also killing two cattle raised by local residents.
Additionally, military council soldiers from Myakan village launched another attack at 9:45 AM using two 120mm artillery shells, which exploded in areas east of Sadaikkta village. This attack destroyed a locally-owned light truck, though no civilian casualties were reported. Local residents stated that the military council forces were deliberately targeting civilian areas without any ongoing battles or confrontations in the region.
Similarly, the Karen National Union (KNU) confirmed that the military council forces had launched unprovoked artillery attacks on two villages in Hpa-an Township, Karen State. On March 11, military council troops from Kamamaung military outpost fired three 120mm artillery shells at farmlands in Phalataung village and Kyunsin village. The attacks caused significant damage to local residents’ farmlands, house roofs, stairs, doors, windows, and religious altars. These incidents demonstrate the military council’s continued pattern of targeting civilian infrastructure and communities without military justification, causing destruction of property and endangering civilian lives across multiple regions of Myanmar.
