Five civilians were severely injured when the military council conducted an aerial attack on Sha Say Chauk Lay village in Myittha Township, Mandalay Region. The attack occurred at approximately 1:49 AM on September 11, when military aircraft dropped two bombs on the village in the eastern part of Myittha Township, despite there being no active fighting in the area. The injured civilians were identified as U Soe (63 years old), U Kyaw Win (59 years old), Daw Eain (55 years old), Ma Thae Su Mon (24 years old), and Pyae Phyo Aung (29 years old), with some sustaining serious injuries.
The aerial bombardment also resulted in the death of seven cows, one pig, and one cat. Prior to this incident, on September 10, the military council had conducted another airstrike using fighter jets on Seik Thar village in Myittha Township. While that attack caused damage to several houses, no civilian casualties were reported. The attack was carried out despite the absence of any military engagement in the area.
The military council continues to target innocent civilians across Myanmar through airstrikes and artillery attacks, resulting in civilian casualties, injuries, and destruction of property. The military has been particularly noted for deliberately targeting areas where there is no active conflict, leading to increased civilian casualties and damages. These attacks demonstrate a pattern of intentional targeting of civilian areas, causing significant harm to local communities and their livelihoods.
