
A representative from the Monywa Township People’s Defense Force has confirmed that 40 military soldiers were killed during attacks by revolutionary forces in August and September when they pursued the terrorist military column that entered Kyaukka village in Monywa Township, Sagaing Region. The conflict began on August 8 when a military column of approximately 150 troops from the Economics University along the Monywa-Kyaukka road advanced toward Kyaukka village, leading to engagements with revolutionary forces.
Revolutionary forces conducted daily pursuit and blockade operations from August 8 to August 11, resulting in 40 military casualties and approximately 20 injuries, including a major and a captain from the terrorist military forces. Following these battles, the military column has been stationed inside the Kyaukka Shwegu Ni Temple compound since August 14 until the present time. Revolutionary forces have continued to launch attacks on the terrorist military position at the Kyaukka Shwegu Ni Temple compound on August 20, September 12, and September 16.
These operations involved the coordinated efforts of various revolutionary forces, including Monywa Township PDF Combat Units 1,2,3,4,5, Monywa Township PDF Special Combat Force, Monywa District Battalions 6,7,16,24, Strategy 66, Budalin Combined Forces Column, and PDF units from Chaung-U, Ayartaw, and Budalin Townships, among others. Currently, the terrorist military is continuously burning and destroying civilian homes in Kyaukka village and has established a checkpoint while maintaining their position at the Kyaukka Shwegu Ni Temple and Shwegu Phyu Temple along the Monywa-Ayartaw road.
