Local residents reported that four military council soldiers were killed in a mine attack by resistance forces while patrolling in Thayetkone Township, Bago Region. The incident occurred around 1 PM on August 6 when revolutionary forces attacked a patrol group of approximately 30 military council soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members who were traveling on 15 motorcycles from the Padeekone area of Thayetkone Township. The attack took place near a rest house close to Bupyaw village.
During the attack, three motorcycles were hit by mines, resulting in the death of four soldiers. The resistance forces successfully retreated from the area without suffering any casualties. Later that evening, military council forces returned to the scene with a three-wheeled vehicle to retrieve the bodies of the four deceased soldiers and the three damaged motorcycles. According to local witnesses, the bodies and motorcycles were covered with tarpaulins during transportation.
A local resident revealed that when the military council forces came to collect the bodies, they blocked all access routes to the area and carefully covered both the bodies and the damaged motorcycles with tarpaulins before transporting them away. As of now, no official statement regarding this attack has been released by the revolutionary forces. This attack represents part of the ongoing resistance movement against the military council’s oppression of civilians in the region.
