
The leader of the People’s Defense and Security Team in Myaing Township, Ko Nwe Oo, has confirmed that four civilians were killed during two consecutive days of airstrikes and artillery attacks by the military council forces in Myaing Township, Sagaing Region. On March 19, in the evening, military council troops from the Myaing town base launched artillery attacks on Hletwinoo and Kyunkun villages, resulting in the death of one male and one female civilian.
On the same day, military council forces conducted aerial bombardments on Myaing town using helicopter gunships, which led to the death of two more civilians, injured one woman, and destroyed two houses by fire. On the morning of March 20, military council troops continued their indiscriminate artillery shelling around Myaing town while helicopter gunships conducted repeated intimidation flights over the area, according to local residents.
Ko Nwe Oo, the leader of the Myaing Township People’s Defense and Security Team, has warned local residents to evacuate to safe locations away from areas at risk of artillery strikes and aerial attacks. Local sources report that military operations in Myaing Township have intensified, with frequent attacks targeting civilians. Residents are advised to remain extremely vigilant as the military council continues its aggressive operations in the region, posing severe risks to civilian safety and security.
