
The leader of the People’s Defense and Security Team in Myaing Township, Ko Nwe Oo, has confirmed that four civilians were killed during two consecutive days of airstrikes and artillery attacks by the military council forces in Myaing Township, Sagaing Region. On March 19, in the evening, military council troops from the Myaing town base launched artillery attacks on Hletwinoo and Kyunkun villages, resulting in the death of one male and one female civilian. Additionally, drone attacks on Myaing town caused the death of two more civilians, injured one woman, and destroyed two houses by fire.
On the morning of March 20, military council forces continued their indiscriminate artillery shelling around Myaing town while drones conducted repeated surveillance flights, creating an atmosphere of intimidation. The People’s Defense and Security Team has warned local residents to evacuate to safe locations to avoid the dangers of artillery strikes and aerial attacks. These deliberate attacks by the military council forces on civilian populations have resulted in loss of lives, property damage, and have caused widespread fear and anxiety among local residents.
