The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) reported on June 6 that four civilians were injured by artillery fire from the terrorist military forces in Naung Cho Township, Shan State, despite an announced ceasefire being in effect. On June 4, the military council forces indiscriminately fired heavy weapons into the Market Quarter of Naung Cho town, resulting in civilian casualties and damage to two houses and a monastery in the Kambawza monastery compound.
Similarly, on June 3 at 8:54 AM, the military council forces launched drone attacks from Ye Phyu village, dropping six bombs on Gangaw village. Later that same day at 4 PM, they conducted another drone strike on Kan Gyi village. Currently, the Three Brotherhood Alliance in the northern region has declared they will not conduct offensive operations in conflict areas to allow humanitarian assistance to reach earthquake-affected civilians, maintaining their commitment to the ceasefire agreement.
Although the military council announced a one-month extension of the ceasefire period on June 2, they continue to launch attacks on Naung Cho town. The TNLA has urged civilians to remain vigilant against the military council’s bombing attacks and to follow air defense procedures for their safety. TNLA spokesperson Lwai Ye Oo disclosed during a press conference that military tensions remain high between the army and TNLA in Naung Cho Township, with the military council continuing to reinforce troops and ammunition supplies. He emphasized that the military council is constantly conducting airstrikes, launching offensives, and firing artillery, making it crucial for civilians to maintain heightened awareness and follow proper air defense protocols.
