
Multiple clashes occurred between military troops from the Northwest Military Command and local resistance forces in Budalin Township, Sagaing Region, from August 20 to September 8, as confirmed by the Budalin Township Combined Forces. During these engagements, the military suffered 33 fatalities and over 20 injuries, with weapons and ammunition being captured by resistance forces.
The fighting initially broke out in Kan Thit village on August 20, followed by subsequent clashes near Pae Pyit Taw village, Kan Thar village monastery, and Kon Thar village. On August 23 and 24, resistance forces conducted drone strikes on the Budalin Township General Administration Department office, resulting in military casualties, as confirmed by Column Commander Kywe Lay of the combined forces. The military column conducted operations in the area for over 20 days before withdrawing to the Northwest Military Command headquarters on September 8.
Further clashes erupted near Shwe Taung village monastery and Ukka Min Thit oil shop on September 3 and 8. During these engagements, resistance forces captured military equipment including one MA-1 rifle, one MA-11 rifle, equipment, bulletproof vests, helmets, and ammunition. The military column, which had been conducting operations in the area for more than 20 days, ultimately retreated to the Northwest Military Command headquarters on September 8, according to the statement from the combined forces.
