According to statements from People’s Defense Forces (PDF), thirty members of the military council forces were killed in various battles across Myanmar on March 27. The casualties occurred during operations conducted by local People’s Defense Forces and revolutionary alliance groups in different regions of the country. The clashes primarily took place in the northern, eastern, and western regions of Myanmar, as resistance forces defended against offensive operations by military council troops.
According to PDF statements, the military council casualties occurred while their forces were conducting violent operations against local civilians. However, independent journalists have not been able to verify the exact number of military casualties on the ground. The military council has not issued any statement regarding the deaths of their personnel. Reports from local sources indicate that military council forces continue to engage in forced conscription of civilians, using them as human shields in military operations, and burning villages.
The People’s Defense Forces have stated in their announcements that they are conducting operations against military council troops to stop such brutal acts against civilians. The resistance forces emphasize that their primary objective is to protect civilians from the military council’s ongoing campaign of violence and oppression. While the PDF reports these casualties, they acknowledge that field verification of exact numbers remains challenging due to the ongoing conflict situation and restricted access to battle areas.
