Three civilians were severely injured as a result of military council airstrikes in Sintguu Township, Mandalay Region, and Pekon Township, Southern Shan State, despite the military council’s declared 20-day ceasefire. In the vicinity of Sintguu, a Yak-130 fighter jet from the military council’s Tada-U air base conducted bombing raids that resulted in severe injuries to two civilians and caused damage to several homes. The military council’s aerial assault occurred at approximately 4:49 PM on April 4, targeting the northeastern area of Sintguu city.
In Pekon Township’s Khaung-ti New Village, the military council launched attacks using two suicide drones and heavy artillery, resulting in injuries to one civilian. Local resistance forces in the Pekon area managed to shoot down one of the military council’s suicide drones. Despite the military council’s announcement of a ceasefire due to earthquake damage, they continue to conduct daily airstrikes and drone attacks. In the Pekon area, Strategic Operations Command 7 (SOC-7) has been targeting civilian villages, putting even farmers working in their fields at risk of military attacks.
The ongoing attacks during the declared ceasefire period have prompted resistance forces and local residents to maintain heightened vigilance. The military council’s continued use of airstrikes and armed drones against civilian areas demonstrates a clear pattern of aggression despite their public commitment to a temporary cessation of hostilities. Local defense forces have issued warnings to both revolutionary forces and civilians to remain cautious and vigilant, as the military council’s actions show no sign of adhering to their declared ceasefire. The situation highlights the ongoing security challenges faced by local communities, particularly in areas where civilian populations are directly targeted by military operations.
