The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) Information Department has reported that during July, military council attacks using aircraft, heavy weapons, and drones in northern Ta’ang region resulted in the deaths of 27 civilians, including children, and injuries to 82 others. The attacks occurred throughout TNLA-controlled territories including Kyaukme, Mogok, Naung Cho, Mine Ngaik, Hsipaw, Mine Lon, and Kutkai townships. These systematic attacks by the military council forces targeted civilian areas with airstrikes, artillery fire, and drone strikes throughout the month of July.
In Kyaukme Township, deliberate jet fighter attacks by the military council resulted in the death of one Buddhist monk and three civilians, while 18 men and four women were injured. Additionally, 45 houses, two schools, and two monasteries were destroyed. In Naung Cho Township, attacks using heavy weapons, drones, and jet fighters killed four men and injured six men and one woman, while destroying 17 houses and two monasteries. The military council’s attacks have systematically targeted civilian infrastructure and religious buildings, causing significant damage to local communities.
In Mogok city, despite the absence of any active fighting, the military council deliberately targeted civilians with jet fighter attacks, resulting in the deaths of seven people, including two children, six men, and one woman. The attacks also injured four children, 27 men, and 12 women, while destroying 38 houses. In Hsipaw, airstrikes killed two men and injured one woman and four men, with 18 houses and one school suffering destruction. The pattern of attacks shows a clear targeting of civilian areas and infrastructure, causing extensive damage to residential areas and educational facilities.
Military council airstrikes in Mine Lon city resulted in one male civilian death and the destruction of seven houses. In Kutkai, air attacks killed five people, including one child, four men, and one woman, while injuring three women and four men, and destroying five houses. The TNLA Information Department has issued warnings to civilians about the need for military vigilance and adherence to air defense procedures to protect themselves from the military council’s ongoing air attacks. These attacks demonstrate a consistent pattern of targeting civilian populations and infrastructure across the Ta’ang region, resulting in significant loss of life and property damage.
