The People’s Defense Force (PDF) of Shwebo Township announced that 24 military council troops were killed and weapons were seized during simultaneous attacks on three military camps, including army and Pyu Saw Htee camps, in Shwebo Township, Sagaing Region. The revolutionary forces led by Shwebo Township PDF launched attacks on the Pyu Saw Htee camp and military outpost in Hinthakyi village, Shwebo Township, at 6:30 AM on June 28.
The attacks were carried out simultaneously on the Hinthakyi Pyu Saw Htee camp and military outpost, while the Boenattaung military garrison was repeatedly attacked using drones. The three camps were reported to have a combined force of over 70 Pyu Saw Htee members and soldiers. During the offensive, resistance forces managed to capture five military bunkers at the Hinthakyi Pyu Saw Htee village camp. However, while attempting to seize the nearby military outpost, Infantry Battalion 12 from Kyaukmyaung and Light Infantry Battalion 42 from Shwebo provided heavy artillery support using howitzers, 105mm, and 120mm weapons. The revolutionary forces had to withdraw when military council reinforcements arrived.
In the battle, 17 military personnel were initially killed, with seven more casualties including a warrant officer in subsequent fighting. During the operation, 18 civilians were captured from Pyu Saw Htee village, but they were released to safety due to being children, women, and elderly persons, considering the intensifying military situation and territorial conditions. The resistance forces seized military equipment including 2 carbines, 1 9mm pistol, 1 G-3 rifle, 66 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 635 rounds of G-3 ammunition, and 4 magazines from the military council forces. Two PDF members were killed in action during the operation.
The operation was conducted under the command of Shwebo Township PDF, with participation from various PDF combat units including Township Combat Teams, Combat Teams from Areas 2, 4, and 5, Shwebo District PDF Combat Team, Ye-U Township PDF Combat Team, and Depayin Township PDF Group-3. Additionally, drone units from Shwebo Township PDF (Shwebo Federal Tech-Drone Force), Butalin Township PDF Drone Force, and Area 5 PDF Drone Force collaborated in attacking the three military positions. The coordinated effort demonstrated the growing capabilities of resistance forces in conducting complex military operations against multiple targets simultaneously.
