
A senior official from Battalion 1006, People’s Defense Force Battalion 2 in Pekon Township has confirmed that 23 military council troops, including a column commander, were killed during attacks on Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 422 based in Moebye, Karenni State. During the period from January 1 to February 28, drone strikes by the drone unit of Battalion 1006 resulted in the deaths of 5 military council soldiers, including a column commander. Throughout the engagements, a total of 23 military council troops were killed and 20 were wounded.
On February 27, despite launching a major offensive with significant forces to retake control of Moebye town, the military council troops suffered heavy casualties and were forced to retreat in the face of resistance from revolutionary forces. In this battle, 4 revolutionary fighters sacrificed their lives. The defense of Moebye continues to be maintained by a coalition of forces including Battalion 1006 Pekon Township People’s Defense Force Battalion 2, PDF, KNDF, and allied forces.
Throughout the engagements, revolutionary forces have demonstrated skilled implementation of military tactics, with precision drone strikes repeatedly disrupting military council offensives. The military capabilities of revolutionary forces in the Moebye region have shown significant improvement, and with the support of local civilians, they have successfully repelled the military council’s offensive operations. The resistance forces continue to hold their positions while maintaining strategic defensive operations in the area.
