
The Myaing People’s Defense Force announced that 21 soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members were killed in an attack on a military column that departed from Mezalikone Police Station in Pwintbyu Township, Minbu District, Magway Region. The battle occurred on September 4th, involving a military column of over 200 personnel including soldiers from Infantry Battalions 253, 254, 255, militia troops, police and soldiers from Mezalikone Police Station, and Pyu Saw Htee members from Kyaungkongyi village, Ywa Khaing village, and Konzaung village. People’s Defense Forces attacked the column near the Red Hill Forest Monastery northwest of Nyaungkyin village.
During the 30-minute battle, 21 military council forces were killed and many others were wounded. The military forces are reportedly reinforcing their troops and preparing to continue operations, while People’s Defense Forces have taken up positions ready to counter-attack. The battle involved coordinated action between Myaing PDF, Minbu District Battalion 4, Myaing/Pauk PDF formations, Myaing/Pauk Drone Team, Pakokku PDF, and Pwintbyu Township Local Defense Forces.
Additionally, there were attacks using heavy weapons and drones on September 2nd and 3rd targeting the Pyu Saw Htee village of Thayet Kan in southern Myaing Township. The attacks struck military council forces who were gambling, resulting in injuries to two Pyu Saw Htee members, according to Comrade Saw Gyi from the TYK guerrilla force. The village reportedly houses over 100 military and Pyu Saw Htee forces who are experiencing shortages of food supplies.
