A spokesperson from the United States of Burma Army (USBA) has confirmed that 19 military council personnel, including an officer, were killed in attacks on military columns and convoys in Salay Township, Magway Region. The first attack occurred around 2:11 PM on September 6, when resistance forces intercepted a military column of approximately 80 personnel between Nyaung Wine village and Tay village. The military column had been conducting operations in more than 10 villages in the township when resistance forces launched their attack.
According to internal military sources, the casualties from the first attack included one officer and 16 other personnel, including two female soldiers. The military council forces had been raiding and looting civilian properties in various villages including San Lan, Kanyitku, Chin Kone, Akyi Sar, Pon Gyi, Alat Lay, Zi Taw, Man Kyi Yun, Thayet Khaing, Pauk Phyu, Tha Zi, Shwe Pan Khaing, and Nyaung Wine for five consecutive days. They had been transporting stolen goods to Military Operations Command 12 using three trucks on a daily basis.
Later the same day, around 4 PM, resistance forces conducted another attack on a military convoy along the Salay-Minbu road near Tazigauk village, approximately 4 kilometers north of Bawdi police station. The convoy consisted of four container trucks carrying supplies for Military Operations Command 12, two military vehicles with about 40 security personnel, and five motorcycles serving as advance scouts. In this attack, three police personnel were killed while resistance forces were able to withdraw successfully without any casualties. The bodies of the three deceased police personnel were subsequently transported to Military Operations Command 12. These coordinated attacks demonstrate the ongoing conflict between resistance forces and military council troops in the region, with resistance forces maintaining their offensive operations against military council targets.
