Eighteen Chin revolutionary armed organizations jointly announced on June 19 their commitment to unite and fight against their common enemy, the military council. The announcement acknowledges all Chin revolutionary groups that emerged following the military’s seizure of power from the people on February 1, 2021. These groups aim to achieve the ultimate goals of the Spring Revolution, including the complete elimination of the terrorist military, the establishment of a genuine federal democratic union, the protection of their territory and people, and the building of a Chin state with full self-determination rights.
The statement warns that current frequent conflicts between Chin revolutionary armed organizations, attempts to resolve disputes through armed confrontation, and weakening unity between armed organizations and the public not only delay the people’s revolution but could also lead to the failure of the Chin people’s revolutionary objectives. Therefore, the groups express their constant hope for mutual respect among Spring Revolution armed groups and unity among all Chin nationals. They emphasize the importance of avoiding actions and statements that could lead to misunderstandings between groups, prioritizing the fight against their common enemy, and addressing territorial and ethnic issues within Chin State through political means after the revolution.
The joint statement declares their readiness to unite all Chin revolutionary armed organizations to fight against the common enemy, defend Chin people and territories, and work diligently with the Chin public for national unity and state-building. The signatory organizations include Zotung Federal Council/CDF-Zotung, CDF-Matupi, CDF-Kalay-Gabaw-Gangaw, CDF-Hakha Central Council, CDF-Thantlang, Lautu Region People Administration/CDF-Lautu, Zopheiram Council/CDF-Zophei, Maraland Council/CDF-Mara, Paletwa Council/CDF-Paletwa, Mindat Council, Senthang Central Council/SRF, Tedim Township Council/PDA, Thado Council/CDF-Thado, Tonzang Township Council/CDF-Tonzang, Siyin Regional Council/CDF-CDM-Siyin, Kanpetlet Council, Zanniatland People’s Organization/CDF-Zanniatram, and Hualngoram People’s Organization/CDF-Hualngoram.
