This region experiences annual flooding during the rainy season due to heavy rainfall and mountain runoff causing the Lay Myo River to overflow. This year’s flooding follows the same pattern. Additionally, in recent days, parts of Kyauktaw, Ponnagyun, and Maungdaw townships have also reported submerged houses, with local residents in urgent need of emergency assistance. The flood-affected communities are facing daily challenges in their living conditions and require immediate emergency aid and support.
