
The Natogyi People’s Defence Force Battalion 4-10 of Myingyan District has confirmed that 13 military council soldiers were killed during an attack on military reinforcement troops heading to Wetlu Police Station in Natogyi Township, Mandalay Region. During the battle, five additional military council soldiers were wounded, and resistance forces were able to recover one body. The engagement resulted in significant losses for the military council forces while demonstrating the growing capabilities of resistance forces in the region.
During the confrontation, resistance forces captured a lance corporal from Battalion 88, while a police officer under the military council’s command defected to the resistance forces with his weapons. Additionally, the resistance forces successfully rescued two newly recruited soldiers who had been forcibly conscripted and were being used as porters by the military council troops. According to reports, the resistance forces suffered no casualties during the operation, which was carried out with precise coordination between multiple resistance groups.
The resistance forces seized a substantial cache of weapons and ammunition from the military council troops during the battle. The captured materials included one MA-1 rifle, one MA-3 rifle, 92 rounds of G-3 ammunition, 1,500 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, 12 M9 grenades, eight 60mm mortar rounds, one 60mm mortar base plate, two RPG warheads, two additional RPG rounds, 14 landmines, 11 hand grenades, one drone shooter device, and six ammunition boxes. This seizure of military equipment represents a significant tactical advantage for the resistance forces and a considerable loss for the military council.
The operation, designated as 9/A Nyar Myae Operation, was jointly conducted by Myingyan District Battalion 4, Myingyan District Battalion 10, and the Tada-U People’s Defence Force. This successful coordinated action demonstrates the increasing effectiveness of resistance forces’ joint operations and their ability to conduct complex military operations against military council forces. The victory has been noted as a significant achievement in ensuring the security of local civilians and maintaining pressure on military council forces operating in the region. The operation’s success highlights the growing strength of the resistance movement and its capacity to effectively challenge military council control in various parts of the country.
